From the remnants of an abandoned tract of land, home to enormous limestone quarries has emerged 45 of golf's most challenging and amazing holes. Black Diamond Ranch, the dream of developer Stan Olsen and the design of master golf architect Tom Fazio, has emerged as one of the top-ranked courses in the world.

Consisting of the 18 hole Quarry Course which sports a blend of terrain features seldom found in the southeastern U.S., most particularly the signature holes; #13 through #17 which feature playing in and around two retired quarries. With elevation changes of up to 100 feet, boulders, wild flowers, cliffs and crystal clear Black Diamond Lake these holes are some of the most exciting you will ever play.

As if that were not enough, Fazio then created the equally exciting Ranch Course, which again features dynamic changes in elevation surrounded by spectacular native vegetation. Resulting in a course that is more rugged and less manicured, framed by hammocks of oaks and tawny colored sand. The 18 hole Ranch Course's goal to blend with the natural landscape was totally achieved.

Eventually, the 9 hole Highlands Course was added to provide variety to Black Diamond's golf experience. According to designer and architect Tom Fazio, the Highlands Nine adds true variety to the golf experience at Black Diamond. Routed on the highest part of the property, the golfer is faced with dramatic long-range views, often 25 to 30 miles in the distance. The dramas of these elevations coupled with the unique mix of formalized and naturalized bunkers makes the Highland Nine a wonderful complement to the Black Diamond experience.
